Portland Elopement | Kayla & Aaron

Oh my goodness, Kayla and Aaron's Portland elopement was an absolute dream to photograph. Kayla contacted me about photographing their elopement after finding a photo from the Redwood Deck at Hoyt Arboretum. They live in Ohio but decided to travel to the Pacific Northwest for their wedding, an intimate ceremony with just their families. Kayla and I chatted from a distance for several months leading up to the big day to make arrangements with vendors and other locations that she had found online and loved.Kayla and Aaron's wedding day fell on the hottest day of the year in Portland. The Redwood Deck ended up being the perfect location in the tall trees. It was such a beautiful ceremony. Kayla's dad walked her down the pathway and she carried a gorgeous bouquet from Island Girl Floral Design.  Aaron's brother served as their officiant and Kayla's sisters stood by her side. Both sets of their parents looked on as they said their heartfelt and personal vows. Happy tears were shed for the couple.After the ceremony, we took photos at Hoyt Arboretum.  Then I captured the newlyweds sharing their first official dance together before we drove together to the second location.Kayla had found photos online of the Witch's Castle in Forest Park and wanted to get some photos there.  While the hike to the castle isn't far, about half a mile, they were troopers making the hike in their wedding attire on a very hot day, carrying a bouquet.  It truly looked like a fairytale with them at the castle.  We then drove from Forest Park to Portland's Pearl District.  We walked around Tanner Springs Park and through the streets as the sun went down on the city.  When we finished taking photos, I drove them to Dame where they met the rest of their party for their reception dinner.  They wanted a farm to table vibe for their Portland elopement and Dame fit perfectly.Kayla and Aaron, thank you so much for trusting me with your vision for your Portland elopement!  I had the best time with you on your wedding day.  I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together.  Heidi Heaphy Photography is currently booking 2019 weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions at the Oregon Coast, the greater Portland area, and wherever you want to adventure in the Pacific Northwest.
