Cannon Beach Extended Family Session

This Cannon Beach extended family session was such a blast.  I got the opportunity to meet this wonderful family when they all gathered in Cannon Beach from other states to celebrate their parents' 50th wedding anniversary.  It was so special because all 4 of their kids and all of their grandkids were able to make the reunion happen.  There were 27 family members all together and it was fun being able to photograph them on the beach.  I think Cannon Beach is the perfect place for a family reunion and I think this was the best reason to celebrate. It ended up being a very windy day in July when we met for their session, but I always try to embrace the weather at the Oregon Coast.  It can definitely be unpredictable, but it is always a beautiful backdrop for photos.  We spent time taking photos of the entire group of 27, then photos of each family, as well as several individual photos of couples and kids.  It is always fun to see each family's unique personalities shine through for their photos.  While some of the families that live in warmer climates thought it was cold in the water, other families embraced the ocean full-on. My absolute favorite part of the session was when it was time for photos of just the grandparents.  They didn't hesitate and walked right out into the water, then told me they wanted some romantic photos of just them.  It was such a sweet moment.Thank you all for choosing me to capture your lovely family in Cannon Beach!  It was truly an honor.  Are you planning a family reunion or celebration at the Oregon Coast this year?  I would love to meet you there!Heidi Heaphy Photography is now booking 2019 photography sessions at the Oregon Coast, in Portland, and elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest.
