Cannon Beach Elopement | Hazel & Sal

Oregon coast elopements are some of my absolute favorite days to photograph. I love big celebrations with a couple and their family and friends too, but there is something so special when it's just a couple saying their vows to one another in such an intimate setting. It is always an honor when I get to sign as a witness and to capture this beautiful occasion. Hazel and Sal's Cannon Beach elopement was no exception.As with many elopements, I got to know this couple and their story from a distance. Meeting beforehand isn't always an option when they are traveling from another state. However, I loved finding out about their story and all that they had been through together. They faced so many challenges together before they found themselves at the beach saying their vows to one another. The weather on the day of their wedding was less than desirable, but they were still able to do their ceremony outside overlooking Haystack Rock and we were able to do photos on the rainy and windy beach afterwards. You never know what kind of weather you will get at the Oregon coast, but I always tell people it doesn't matter. If they are up for adventure, I am up for adventure! When all else fails, I bring umbrellas and we laugh in the rain. As we were finishing up their photos, a passerby told Hazel and Sal that they were brave for being out in the weather. Hazel replied that with all of the storms they had been through together, this one was nothing. I loved hearing her say that.Hazel and Sal, thank you for letting be capture your Cannon Beach wedding.
