Portland Photographer | The Boys of Fall

Oh fall, how I love you so. The leaves, the colors, the light, the shifting weather, and yes, the pumpkin spice lattes. I love it all. Have I mentioned that before? Why yes, I think I have. I love the shift from the hot days of summer to the cool, crisp mornings of fall. The season is way too short in my opinion, so we try to take advantage of the weather and the colors as much as possible. Oregon is pretty any time of year, but fall here just can't be beat.While driving around the Portland area, I make mental notes of places I want to revisit at different times of the year or different times of day. My boys and I found these rows of yellow trees one day so we drove back there with their scooters in the evening and rode around before a leaf fight. Knowing that a change in weather was coming soon and that the pretty yellow leaves wouldn't stay on the trees for too much longer, I bribed them the next evening to return in their nicer clothes.My boys are used to me taking their photos on many of our outings, but for the most part I let them do their thing and capture them just being themselves. I don't attempt to pose them very often. But every once in awhile a treat is required to get them in the same frame together in a beautiful scene. This was one of those times when bribery was required. And I can almost guarantee that this won't be the last time this happens during this Oregon October.This fall is filling up with family and engagement sessions, but I still have a few openings available for fall sessions in the Portland area.
