Engagement Session | Lydia & Cade
Engagement sessions are some of my very favorites. They are so important and helpful in order to get to know a couple before spending an entire wedding day with them. An engagement session also helps the couple get comfortable with the photographer and vice versa. When the wedding day comes around, you've already spent time together, the couple is comfortable being in front of the camera, and they will be confident knowing that the photography portion of the wedding day will be as smooth as possible. While the logistics of an engagement session don't always work out due to distance, timing, or an elopement, I offer them with all of my wedding packages and encourage couples to have an engagement session before their wedding day if at all possible.I recently had the privilege of attending Click Away in Seattle and was able to take part in several classes and workshops from some very talented photographers. One of those workshops was with the sweet and talented Anita Martin Photography. Her workshop focused on capturing honest joy in couples, particularly during an engagement session. I always enjoy getting to see how other photographers work and interact with clients. We all were able to photograph this adorable engaged couple, Lydia and Cade. We walked around the streets of Seattle and photographed them dancing, laughing, and just being happy together. We chatted about how they met and about their upcoming wedding plans.I have so much more to share from Click Away and several more blog posts will be coming. It was an inspiring and encouraging week away and I always take away so much from these workshops. Thank you to Anita Martin for this joy-filled workshop, and thank you to Lydia and Cade for letting us photograph your love in Seattle!Heidi Heaphy Photography is a Portland, Oregon and Oregon coast portrait and wedding photographer.
