Oregon Coast Elopement | Asya & Todd in Yachats
Every single time I get to photograph an Oregon coast wedding or an Oregon coast elopement, I think that it is just the perfect place to get married. It certainly requires being somewhat stress-free about the weather as the weather at the coast is unpredictable, but it means gorgeous setting no matter what. I was truly honored when Asya and Todd asked me to photograph their elopement in Yachats. We began chatting in the fall about their springtime wedding which was to be a small and intimate event with just the two of them and their precious St. Bernard, Juniper. Asya and Todd's story pulled me in right away, how they grew up on opposite coasts, her in Alaska and him in Florida, and how they met and moved to Montana together. While they live in Montana now (just 20 minutes from my hometown!), the ocean holds a special place in their hearts and they wanted to be at the coast for their wedding. Their love story came with tremendous bumps in the road, including Asya surviving a brain tumor, but they knew supporting and loving each other through the trials meant they were to be together forever. They decided on Yachats for their location, a truly beautiful area on the central Oregon coast. We met on the beach at Cape Cove, part of Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. The day could not have been more perfect for a March elopement at the Oregon coast. There was sunshine when we arrived, brief amounts of light rain during the ceremony, pouring rain while we signed the marriage license under umbrellas, and then cloudy skies and sun breaks the rest of the day.Theresa with Heart Rock Ceremonies provided the most perfect, personalized, and heartfelt ceremony for Asya and Todd. There were tears all around during the ceremony and then we watched from a distance as the bride and groom said their vows privately to one another on the beach with their best companion at their feet.I love that Asya and Todd's wedding was simple and intimate but that the details were all meaningful and perfect. They wore fishing boots which were a nod to their fishing days in Alaska and they had the best matching anchor tattoos. Asya's bouquet, her floral crown, and Juniper's floral crown were simply perfect! Newport Florist and Gifts did an absolutely stunning job with the florals and provided the best details for their day.Thank you so much, Asya and Todd, for trusting me to capture your Oregon coast elopement. I truly hope that our paths cross again one day, whether in Oregon or Montana. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together!
