Cannon Beach Wedding | Jamie & Juan

Jamie and Juan celebrated their Cannon Beach wedding with their closest family and friends this past March. Not only was it their wedding day, it was also their 8-year dating anniversary. They had decided if their anniversary ever came up on a Saturday, they should get married that day!It was a snowy Oregon Coast drive when I went to meet them for their first look. I met Juan at the McMenamins Gearhart Hotel where the couple and their wedding guests were staying. He and I walked down to the beach together to wait for Jaime who was going to greet him for the first time in her wedding dress. As with all wedding days, there has to be a little something that doesn't go exactly as planned, which always makes for a good story. Finding each other on the beach for their first look was that time for this couple. The beach is a big place after all! Once we figured out where everyone was, Jaime walked down to meet Juan in the rain. It was truly beautiful watching this couple see each other for the first time on their wedding day, umbrellas in hand. We spent a little bit of time taking photos on the beach in Gearhart before driving to their ceremony location in Cannon Beach.  I loved the little personal touches of this day, including the "aisle" that Juan crafted himself for their ceremony.  Family and friends helped set it up on the beach in the drizzling rain.  They added sunflowers to the posts and it was the perfect touch for their beach wedding.  Jaime looked absolutely stunning as her dad walked her down the aisle to marry Juan.  Add in beautiful bridesmaids and the most adorable flower girl, and what else could you need?Their friend had traveled from the east coast to perform their wedding ceremony.  She told stories full of love and stories that had their guests laughing.  The rain stopped completely at some point during the ceremony as we took photos on the beach afterwards with iconic Haystack Rock in the background.  It was simple and it was perfect and I was honored to capture this wonderful day.Jamie and Juan, I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together!  Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your day.  Heidi Heaphy Photography is currently booking 2018 and 2019 weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions.
