Cannon Beach Elopement {Allie & DeJohne}

Allie and Dejohne’s intimate wedding took place in the fall of 2020 in Cannon Beach. Their ceremony was simple and perfect and included just their families and close friends. Their 2 sons played a big part in the day and were just adorable as they watched their parents get married. Everyone looked so stylish for this beautiful Cannon Beach elopement.

At the time of their wedding, Oregon was suffering from a particularly awful wildfire season. When I arrived at Cannon Beach on the day of Allie and Dejohne’s wedding, the fog had also rolled in on the beach. Between the fog and the smoke in the sky, the beach looked downright eerie. Haystack Rock was not even visible as I walked down the beach until I was right in front of the iconic landmark. However, by the time Allie’s mom walked her down the sandy aisle to marry Dejohne, the fog began to lift and Haystack Rock became visible again. It ended up being a peaceful, calm, and gorgeous day at the coast.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed pizza and cupcakes, the best way to celebrate! Allie, Dejohne, and I snuck away for some photos of just the two of them before they rejoined their guests. It was great working with Luke at Grand Scope Films who filmed their day and made a gorgeous video of their wedding celebration.

I fell in love with photographing couples and families at the Oregon Coast almost 9 years ago and it never, ever gets old for me. The coast is my happy place, and it is an honor when I get to photograph happy people on their most important days there. Rain, fog, smoke, wind, or sunshine, the Oregon Coast is a stunning backdrop regardless. Allie and Dejohne’s moody wedding day is one I will never forget.

Are you planning an intimate wedding at the Oregon Coast or elsewhere in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest? I would love to chat with you about capturing your day!
