Arch Cape Annual Family Sessions {DeRosa Family}

I have had the honor of photographing this beautiful family in Arch Cape several times over the last few years. We first met when they came to visit the Oregon Coast for a summer vacation in 2019 and asked me to capture them and their 3 adorable daughters. They came back each year (with a skipped year for Covid) to the same Oregon Coast rental house, and I have been able to photograph them and their growing family each time.

They are truly the sweetest family, coming from Utah each summer. Sometimes additional family members come along too. I have loved meeting grandparents and aunts and cousins. The best part is seeing their family grow each year. In 2021 their family had added another beautiful baby girl. In 2022, they had grown again with a gorgeous teenage niece added to the family. How wonderful for this family of 5 girls! I always look forward to seeing the beautiful outfits that mom puts together for them.

One of my favorite parts of doing a session in the same place at the coast every year is that we are in the exact same location, but it looks different every time. The tides make a huge difference in this spot, sometimes we have little beach to work with, and sometimes it feels like the beach goes on forever before reaching the water. The first 2 sessions were in the evening, one time with sun and one time with clouds. Several of the ladies ended their 2021 session swimming in the ocean, a day that I will never forget. This past summer we did their session in the morning as one of the girls was being baptized in the evening. It was fun to change it up and we had a perfect Oregon Coast morning with a very low tide and no wind.

The absolute biggest honor is being asked to photograph families year after year, and one of the highlights of my summer is seeing the DeRosa family on their annual Oregon Coast adventure.
