Portland Wedding Photographer | Wedding Workshop
A few times a year I head off to further my photography education by attending workshops from some very talented photographers. Last month I spent 4 full days getting inspired and motivated and meeting some amazing photographers at Mystic Seminars. It just so happened that this was the 10th annual Mystic Seminars and for the first time it was being held somewhere other than Mystic, Connecticut. It was actually being held in downtown Portland, so I signed up in a heartbeat. I can't say enough good things about this conference. The lineup of photographers speaking was incredible and I left the conference with so much inspiration and a newfound confidence to keep working and heading in the direction I'm heading. It motivated me to step outside my comfort zone and to define my own success with my photography.When I found out that Susan Stripling was hosting a full-day workshop within the conference, I signed up immediately. I have been a huge fan of Susan's work for several years. I absolutely love her high-contrast style and use of light. She spoke about all aspects of photographing a wedding day from her famous macro ring shots all the way to the reception. She was an incredible teacher just as much as she is a photographer. After listening to her wise words and hitting up the famous Portland food carts for lunch, we photographed 3 gorgeous couples and a beautiful bride.Thank you, thank you, Mystic Seminars and Susan Stripling for this experience! I cannot wait for next year's conference which is coming back to Portland for the second year in a row!
