Portland Photographer | Winter Beauty

This session was such a fabulous way to end the year and begin a new one! Shonna and I have been good friends since grade school and I was honored when she asked if I would take some photos of her with her puppy while we were both in our home town over the holidays. While we have lost touch a bit over the years, I was so excited to catch up. One of my goals for 2016 as a Portland photographer is to do more fun sessions just for the sake of taking beautiful photos. I asked Shonna about the idea of doing some photos in a beautiful dress in the snow after the ones with her puppy. When she said yes, we started planning! We chose this gorgeous Karla Drama gown by nha khan from Rent the Runway which was perfect for a snowy day.In addition to offering wedding, portrait, and family sessions, I plan to do more of these types of sessions in this new year. Shonna is a hard-working dentist and business owner and I'd be willing to bet her wardrobe is similar to my husband's wardrobe of comfy scrubs most days. It's not often (or ever!) that most women get the chance to get glammed up in a gorgeous gown and makeup and feel beautiful in a whole new way. Let's change that! I have a long and ever-growing bucket list of ideas for photos of women and also couples this year.
