Oregon coast session | Kellie at Arcadia Beach

It has been a long, rainy, gloomy winter and spring here in Oregon, so whenever the forecast shows nice weather, we must take advantage. On this particular day a couple of weeks ago the forecast showed sunshine and warm temps at the Oregon coast so I jumped at the opportunity. I sent out a message to friends asking who would be up for a spontaneous adventure and my friend Kellie was the first to answer. Kellie is always my last-minute, let's toss the kids in the car and drive to the coast, swim in the ocean, friend and I love her for it. Our friend Emily (post coming) was able to come along and I loved that she was up for a fun day also. We will definitely have more of these adventures together! We left early in the morning with us 3 ladies, 2 kids, a car full of dresses, and 2 dozen peony tulips that I picked up on a whim walking out of the grocery store. It's no secret that I love an Oregon coast session and this one was so much fun. We decided on Arcadia Beach, a little area just off the highway south of Cannon Beach. (You can see some of our family adventures to Arcadia Beach HERE.). We arrived expecting sunshine and blue skies but instead found ourselves on the pretty, mysterious, and foggy beach. Sometimes the best days work out even better than planned.Kellie and Emily each brought one of their kids along and they had a blast together in the water and sand. We spent the morning running in the waves, trying to outrun hundreds of sand crabs, exploring the tide pools, and taking photos of these gorgeous ladies. I had too many favorites from the day so am breaking this blog post up into 2 parts. I kept telling Kellie that she could be a model and I meant it. She was a natural in front of the camera and wasn't afraid to get soaked in the surf. She also has the best beach hair ever.Part 2 from this fun day at the Oregon coast will be coming soon.
