Cape Perpetua Elopement ~ Blake & Kaiden
Blake and Kaiden were married on a perfect spring day at the Oregon Coast and I loved getting to know this couple and having the honor of capturing their Cape Perpetua elopement. The story of how the two of them met is such a great one, literally running into each other on their jobs in the mental health care field. They are total Swifties, which makes me like them even more, and part of their honeymoon was spent at a Taylor Swift concert in Europe. I wanted to hide away in their luggage and go along!
On the day of their wedding, I met Blake’s mom at the Overleaf Lodge & Spa where they were staying. Blake and Kaiden were still getting ready in separate rooms before their first look. Kaiden put on their custom cufflinks, a special touch and meaningful symbol for the couple. Then they walked down to the rocky overlook below to wait for Blake. Blake and her mom finished putting on shoes, jewelry, and the veil before joining Kaiden below.
After the first look photos, the four of us drove to the Cape Perpetua overlook for the ceremony. Katrina Wynne with Blending Hearts officiated the heartfelt ceremony which left everyone in tears. I love how Katrina shared about the history of the location of their elopement and also shared stories about the couple and their lives. Blake and Kaiden exchanged rings and had a sand ceremony to symbolize them joining their lives together at the Oregon Coast.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with a champagne toast overlooking the ocean. We then drove back to their hotel for some photos on the amazing rocky shoreline where they shared their first dance. I loved everything about this day and wish Blake and Kaiden a lifetime of love and happiness together!
