Portland Family Photographer | An Evening at the Tulips

One of the big highlights of living in Oregon is visiting the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in the spring. We have visited this beautiful site many times over the past several years and it never ceases to be amazing. The boys and I went there one afternoon last month during spring break and it was a beautiful day and dare I say almost hot out! They partook in several of the available activities, including the bounce houses, slides, swings, sandboxes, and hay rides. They ate cotton candy and hot dogs and we stayed for several hours with just a small amount of time spent actually looking at the tulip fields.I knew another trip was going to happen and having a season pass motivated us to go back for a gorgeous sunset.  The season pass also motivated me to wake up with the boys at 5:30 on a recent Saturday morning in an attempt to watch the hot air balloons take off.  Despite our best attempts, we missed the launches by about 20 minutes. Perhaps we will be able to watch that next year. In the meantime, these are a few of my favorite photos from our sunset visit.I had to share another favorite from a visit to Wooden Shoe last year.  The fields were a bit muddy after the rain, to say the least.  I decided to let the boys just go for it rather than attempt to restrain them in this muddy mess.  The photos from that day are still some of my favorites of them and this particular image landed on the April cover of Vancouver Family Magazine!  I am incredibly honored to have one of my photos in print and loved seeing it in person.  Go check out this awesome resource for families in our area.Heidi Heaphy Photography is a Portland, Oregon based photographer specializing in weddings, seniors, and family sessions.
